HI Project Hunter, Hope you are well. The discussion I’m going to present now is a project that some people may even want. Why not? Online business is a place where people can make money quietly at home, one of the online businesses that makes it easier for users to shop is E-Commerce.
E-commerce or can be called electronic commerce is the distribution, purchase, sale, marketing of goods and services via the internet or computer networks. All components in trade are applied to e-commerce such as customer service, product services, payment methods and promotion methods. The development of an increasingly advanced internet is one of the driving factors for the development of e-commerce. The internet is a global network that connects computer networks around the world, thus enabling communication and interaction between companies and consumers. Currently, the development of e-commerce is growing very fast. This can be seen from the number of Internet users in 2016 which were 160 million people and 9.3% of them were used for trading. Of course this is a very promising thing for online shops. However, this still raises various pros and cons for various parties.
For e-commerce companies, it will certainly save the company’s expenses. Because, they do not do promotions through brochures, but through the internet. The next step is to expand the market to cover national markets and global markets, so that companies can reach more customers, choose the best suppliers, and establish relationships with business partners that are considered the most suitable. Everyone can access the Internet, even though it is based in Indonesia, but can be accessed from any country. On the other hand, e-commerce will also make it difficult for companies. Because, many companies have difficulty in recruiting employees who have the skills to operate technology.
For consumers, e-commerce has many impacts. The first, transactions that can be done anytime and anywhere. Transactions on the Internet have no limits, because they will continue for 24 hours. Consumers can do this anywhere, so it will save time. Furthermore, consumers have many choices. E-commerce allows consumers to choose many products just by looking on the internet. Among the many advantages of e-commerce, of course there are disadvantages. First, many consumers are deceived when making transactions. Because there are many people who use e-commerce incorrectly. Meanwhile, when shopping at conventional stores, this is very minimal. Then next, many consumers complain about the problem of shipping goods. Many of the consumers receive the goods approximately 1 week after the transaction, which makes consumers anxious to wait for their goods. Consumers are also still afraid of credit card thieves, their confidential personal information being exposed, and poor network performance.
Most people are restricted trade between countries due to unavailability a platform that can connect people regardless of distance. For this purpose, e-commerce was developed. E-commerce uses the internet to provide people with a platform to buy goods or easilyrequesting services while still providing digital tools through which people can transfer money to execute this transaction. While e-commerce works with any facilitation commercial transactions via the internet, namely mostly referred to as sales of physical products on line. As a transaction of goods and services going digital, eCommerce has evolved to make product discovery easier by setting up online marketplace that connects retailers to consumer. Individuals, businesses, companies, and freelancers have benefited from profits eCommerce because it increases purchases and sale of goods and services in one platform.
From Business to Consumer (B2C) to Business to Business (B2B) to Consumer to Consumer (C2C) and Consumer to Business (C2B), e-commerce provides various models to reflect the transactions that occur on online platforms. Service providers register at eCommerce platforms like Shopify. Consumers who need one or two products go to platform to search and buy. However, just like digital trading provides better profits than in-store trading, unbundled digital commerce offers more advantages than centralized ones makteplaces.
